Welcome back!

Yamaha M1 Only for Valentino Rossi

There is a saying which has flourished for decades. Every master needs a weapon which can cut the opponent in half. Every emperor must have his sword with agility, strength, flexibility and power. Moto GP Champion Valentino Rossi has the same sword which can cut the opponent in half. The new M1 which has been released from Yamaha has all those goodies and technology that can make wonders.

We every time say that its track based bike, so what exactly is a track based bike? Increase your knowledge about bikes with the use of a track based bike which has loads of technology under its body. Unleash the power of an engine which is built to last long and kill its opponent with one single strike. The all new Yamaha M1 is built from something known as carbon fiber which is light and strong. Small sharpening of carbon fiber can cut a rally tire into half without having a bent on its edges. The M1 is equipped with lots of rubber and wires which throttle it ahead of Pedrosa or Stoner.

The difference in performance is seen immediately when the bike is performing. Well if it’s compared to the R1 which is a by product of Yamaha the difference is huge and unbelieving. Well Yamaha does pose they have used Moto GP concept in the bike but the overall performance of the M1 is better than the R1. Explanation of the M1 will be given where you can ease out the bike in understanding the performance with overall speed and handling.

The overall weight of the M1 is light which makes the bike go fast around corner and straight. Weight is an important issue when it comes to building a race bike. The entire body of the M1 is built in carbon fiber which is light and strong. Cost of carbon fiber is more and molding it in required shapes requires use of technology. The M1 chassis is aerodynamically built which works perfect when you need to corner the bike. It supports the tension created on the body of the bike. Holding the tension area with use of flexibility is one of the properties of carbon fiber.
Riding position

In the M1 the seat of the bike is designed according to race specifications. The rider is always sitting in forward steering position. It brings a type of confidence in the rider which creates a different type of riding behavior. Apart from mental behavior a forward steering position also gives flexibility to the rider. When he needs to shift his weight when entering a corner he can easily lean and change his body position. It is also important for the rider to understand the seating position while racing. Rossi’s seat is designed according to his requirements. In short his height and weight is checked to have a rigid design for the seat.
Traction control system

Traction control is one of the important components on a bike. Acceleration and controlling of the bike at different angles is taken care with use of traction control. At times the bike is inclined to 30 degrees. At this time if the throttle is pinned there are chances where the bike might slip. The working of a traction control takes place here when the bike is inclined to the ground. The bike goes like a sling shot when exiting the corner. Such type of performance is expected when traction control is in use. It also ensures counter steering to take place when the rider wants to go fast while cornering.

Forward steering head

Handle position on the bike plays an important role in handling. The M1 has forward type steering handle which works perfect when racing. Bridgestone tires on the M1 have grip when the rider is sitting in front for cornering. Front weight on the tire is not that much when the bike has to be leaned for a corner. Yamaha designed the position of the handle bars to be in front when the rider is on a turn where the Bridgestone stores works perfect and offers a lot of grip.

New Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics of the bike keeps low air drag where the bike does not face problem when traveling at high speeds. Deflecting wind is the main aim of low aerodynamics. 3 cm wideness helps the bike to travel at high speed. The new M1 is 3cm wide in the front. It has a wider fairing which keeps the bike on the ground at 350kmph speed. The air intake is 15% more than the predecessor. When more air is traveling inside the engine chamber it remains cool and performs more. Output of the engine is more when the bike is cool when running.

New tires from Bridgestone with wide swing arm

Bridgestone has designed the tire according to race requirements. The doughnuts are made from soft rubber which works perfect when you wish to corner the bike. You can bend the bike parallel to the ground with the use of these Bridgestone tires. With new norms in place the Bridgestone tires now come with hard casing which increases the life of tires. Wider swing arm gives grip while cornering the bike. 4mm more thickness and adjustment space is given to the new swing arm which rests on the rear of M1. It gives the rider better cornering grip while overtaking and exiting a turn like a sling shot.

New and improved chassis with cycle parts

The front steering head was stiffer than the previous setups. Stiffing of the front steering has been in daily check up manual since 2004. The entire chassis is made from carbon fiber and has parts which are light and durable. New cycle parts have been introduced which reduce drag efficiency of the bike. To increase chassis flex some of the cycle parts were reduced and trimmed. For maximum grip both tires wheelbases were reduced. This gave the rider more tire touchdown and increased the pick up.

Updated engine play

The new M1 engine is 12% powerful than the old engine. Mid range torque was increased where the pull can be witnessed around 14000rpm. Speed generated at such higher rpm’s was required while overtaking and to be in front all the time. It also increased cornering speed with red line indications on the tachometer.

Electronic Throttle Control

Involvement of electronic items increases the performance of the bike. Use of electronic throttle system has given initial boost to acceleration system. Engine response has increased by 30% as compared to the old setup. Dual mode setup can be unleashed when the rider wants to red line the bike while cornering. Use of electronic setup stops tire slipping on corners.

Anti wheelie system

Every gear change on the M1 pops the front of the bike in air. To prevent wheelies and over popping, use of AWS has been done. Air drag is created when the bike is moving ahead. Design of the fairing is done in opposite manner where air passes in right direction but pushes the bike downward. Use of gyroscopes has been done to keep proper weight in front. It pushes the bike downwards and matches the acceleration of the bike. If there is too much power then there is cut off in the acceleration cable and power is reduced.

This is the new M1 which has been designed with great care. It has a lot of technological gadgets which control the performance from the engine. Valentino Rossi’s sword does have sharpness with flexibility. One strike from the M1 ensures the opponent to be cut where the damage is more.
