Well-known E-Type Jaguar was given Restoration award of the year

The Jaguar E Type design is a best iconic car featuring both passion and power. Such a car has crowd of enthusiasts across the world. It has attracted many people hence becomes the center of attraction on any city street, which is a proof to the genius of its creator. It is of no surprise that a company in England spent almost 7,000 hours to restore this E-Type Jaguar, which was reduced to mangled metal in a crash way in the year 1984.

Talking more about E-Type Jaguar, it was also given Restoration of the year honor at an international awards ceremony. Jaguar built the lightweight E-Type in the year 1963. The car was brought back to the life by a team of artisans of Classic Motor Cars in Bridgnorth. This team was also able to save nearly 90% of the original car.

“It was a real labor of love,” said Nick Goldthorp, Managing Director of CMC, who is based in Bridgnorth, “It proves that British craftsmanship and dedication is alive and well.”

The Octane International Historic Motoring awards presentation was organized in St Pancras Renaissance hotel on 17 November 2011. An international team of judges such as TV host, Columnist Jay Leno, Lady Susie Moss, five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell and Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason came together with the aim of judging 11 categories and Restoration of the year was given to the Jaguar.

E-Type crashed in Montlhéry circuit in the year 1964 and was mangled very, badly due to which complete restoration was seemed to be unfeasible. Now after 47 years, this car has been reinstated to its previous glory. Credit for restoration of this car goes to enterprising Classic Motor Cars’ company.
