Remember we updated you on the news about the launch of Volvo S60 a week ago? Yes; the symbol of safety sports car with luxury; Volvo S60 is what the automobile market had been waiting for ages.

The Swedish car maker has been able to add up to the buzz in the enchanting auto market of India thereby attracting more than 100 bookings for the just launched car, the sedan S60.

The car, S60 has been able to create a spectacular demand in the Indian market and as a result, the company is fast gearing up for the challenges ahead to become a prominent name in the luxury car segment of India.

In order to celebrate such a feat (100 Bookings), the company is all set to open 5 more Volvo in select Indian metro cities.

Amongst news from the auto biggie, it’s also been speculated that the company would open up a new dealership in the city of joy, Kolkata by the year end. The Volvo dealerships would also be opened up in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur and Kolkata.

The Swedish giant has launched the luxury car in three exclusive variants. Out of them, one of them is equipped with a petrol engine and rest with diesel. The Volvo S60 diesel variant has been named as Volvo S60 D5 Kinetic and Volvo S60 D5 Summum. The cars are available for a price tag of Rs. 27 and Rs. 32 lakhs respectively.

When we talk of the petrol variant which is Volvo S60 TS Summum, it bears a price tag of around Rs. 34 lakhs. The most attractive feature of the luxury car is its safety features.

Due to its out-of-the-box safety measures, the latest car from Volvo is being touted among the safest cars in auto world. Its effective pedestrian detection system is being considered world class by the experts. The system is based on the sophisticated technology used in the sedan.

As a result, the car can automatically apply breaks when it observes a danger if the driver does not takes action. The car also uses various cameras installed which detect pedestrian movement on the road and gives indications as to what options to be selected to sort out a problem.
