Volkswagen Looks Up to Lupo!
Posted on July 19th 2010Welcome back!

Volkswagen has introduced NSF i.e. NEW SMALL FAMILY and Lupo is going to be the member of the same. It seems that Volkswagen wants to replace its Fox model built in Brazil by Lupo and pretty soon Lupo will be ready to ramp on Indian roads in style.
The VW Group also plans to capture the global market by introducing small car models into its elite brands like Audi, Seat and Skoda by 2015. As regards Lupo, it may hit the Indian markets next year and be positioned below VW Polo at around Rs. 4 lakhs.
In order to control the production cost, Lupo has preferred the conventional layout of the front engine and the front wheel drive. A number of experiments are on in the making of Lupo. It has been reported that it will initially come with the 1litre petrol engine having 65bhp and also a common-rail diesel engine producing 75 bhp. Blue motion technology used in the diesel variant is an effective measure for impressive CO2 emissions.
Volkswagen is really planning to craft something quite out of the box and hence Lupo is expected to come in different body styles. Gone are the days when cars were thought of just in the form of either a hatchback or sedan. Many more novel attractions are coming in. Volkswagen always tries to bring in an irresistible temptation and Lupo, too, doesn’t seem to be an exception.
It will be available in both 5-door and 3-door versions in the European markets. As far as Indian buyers are concerned, they would always prefer a 5-door model and hence a 3-door one may not even be introduced here. The electric Lupo version too is almost ready to be unveiled; but it will take some time to reach Indian market.

Rs 4 Lakh seems to be a reasonable price for the car.

It should be reasonably priced at INR 340,000.00 (less than Euro 6000.00) which the price of ‘Fox’ in Europe.
