The VW are launching in India, some of the real jewels from their treasure of (German) designs. Here it comes, another jewel of it, the new Volkswagen Passat! Highly powerful engine, extremely elegant and impressive exterior and rich interior has blessed the sedan with an absolute fine appearance. The new Passat is launched in India to serve the buyers who can afford high priced sedan, but expect value for money out of it.
The Passat is available in a fresh, eye-pleasing range of tones, which decorates the elegant looking outer view of Passat.
Fresh looking exterior with colors and shapes and highly aero dynamical design of the Jetta body, hugely impresses the viewers. The class competition however, for the Jetta, is quite high. Strong market rivals in class such as the Honda Civic, Chevrolet Cruze, and Toyota Corolla are already doing well in the Indian market. Surely, the new Volkswagen Jetta has to face quite a strong competition to rise up in the market.

Comments :
The classy design of the Jetta leaves a deep first impression to the viewers. A peculiarity of the Volkswagen vehicles, the galvanized body, is followed here too! The front grill with the company logo and the bumper design looks common, however the curly ‘U’ pattern formed by the alignment of the headlamps and the grill is noticeable in the front view of Jetta. Other standard class exterior features in Jetta are the Halogen main headlights and turn signals under one clear glass cover, Radiator grille and frame in chrome, Rain sensor, Retractable outside rear view mirror, Tail lights with LED technology, etc. The “Toronto” alloy wheel is one of the identities of Jetta. Watching a Jetta in full swing with its alloys creating rotating patterns is a real joy!
The interior seating looks extremely lovely due to the “Glow” pattern flat weave seat upholstery and the executive looking interior tone. The lumbar support for front seats is adjustable electrically. The rear seats use the latest 60:40 split folding mechanism, to beat the eternal problem of interior space. The air conditioning system is provided with dual zone climate control, maintaining the loveliness of the interior climate.
The only thing which will cause strong “disturbance” to the interior “peace” is the 10-speaker RCD 500 audio system with MP3 player function and 6-disc CD changer. Riding in Jetta at a highway with some jazzy music is definitely a thing to experience! This would surely make your journey rocking, however long it may be!
The driving becomes more effortless and joyful with the Volkswagen Jetta, as the driving wheel is well equipped with all the controls at hand (rather at fingers!), and numerous automated driving assisting and safety systems. The features at drivers treasure are the Leather-covered multi-function steering wheel with operating facility for display and audio system, Light and sight package: automatic driving light control with “coming home” and “leaving home” function, etc.
The safety standards of Volkswagen are quite high and are well followed in the new Jetta, too! 3 head restraints, Central locking with radio remote control, Safety-optimized front head restraints, 2 additional side airbags for rear passengers, etc, are there in Jetta to ensure complete safety of driver and the passengers.

- 1.9L 104 ps TDI Diesel engine
- Front suspension- McPherson strut with anti-roll bars
- Rear suspension- 4-link
- 3 head restraints, Central locking with radio remote control, Safety-optimized front head restraints, 2 additional side airbags for rear passengers

- “Glow” pattern flat weave seat upholstery, Anthracite Metallic inserts for instrument panel, centre console and door panel trim, Asymmetrically split-folding backrest, Lockable, illuminated glove compartment with cooling facility, Multi-function display, Pockets on doors (with holder for 1-litre bottles at front), Storage compartment with lid on headlining, “Vienna” leather seat upholstery

Cons :
- Less boot space at rear seats
- Interior is not much price compensative
- Higher cost
Bottom Line :
The Volkswagen Jetta is surely a nice engineered and brilliant designed sedan in its class. The driving wheel full of controls, electrically adjustable seats, beautiful and intelligent storage consoles, etc. are among the distinct features of the car. The only concern is that it is not much price compensative. The car is quite costly as compared other C+ segment sedans, however, despite of the higher prive, it offers quite less features. It misses out few recent safety technologies such as the EBD, ESP, etc. Also, the rear passengers find less boot space, as the gap between the two rows is quite less.
The car performances are undoubtedly world class and also the mileage is good. The appearance of the car is stunning and the alloys bless the car with a superb stance. In short, we can wait for the next version of Jetta which will be price efficient.
