The Car

European auto major Volkswagen introduced the most awaited luxurious small car model Volkswagen Beetle to the Indian auto market in Premium D-segment in December 2009. The company has brought in only one variant of the car so far. Beetle models are imported as CBUs (Completely Built Units) from the Mexico based Volkswagen manufacturing plant and as a result the Volkswagen Beetle becomes a much dearer deal to the pocket than many of the other cars in the market.

Beetle is equipped with the 2.0 L petrol engine with six speed automatic transmission gearbox. This is a stylish and powerful hatchback car that offers you the thrill of an SUV and if you look at the size of the make, you are amazed to see all the exciting features loaded in a model that looks like Tata Nano!

Volkswagen has brought Beetle to India to lock horns with another D-segment luxurious small car Fiat 500 and Fiat Bravo which is yet to come in India in the same segment. Beetle has been crafted out in an exceptionally stylish and refined design which gives it an amazing fit and finish. The car has been the brainchild of the German engineering and offers an awesome engine performance. While the dashing and elegant interiors are an attribute, the tight cabin space limits the appeal of the model. The refined exteriors of the car body make its handling more comfortable. Beetle is a front wheel drive car built on MK4 generation Volkswagen Golf/Jetta platform. What makes Beetle more special than most of the other cars in the race are the active safety features like ABS with EBD, seat belt alarm, dual front and side impact airbags and tyre pressure monitoring system. I am going to share some of the amazing exterior, interior and performance features of Beetle and also ponder upon some of the flaws and weak links of the car.

Colors

You have got six stunning colors in which Beetle is available in the market. Salsa Red, Candy White, Black, Reflex Silver, Sunflower and Laser Blue… I would go with the Black one. Regal! That’s the word!

Beetle Exteriors

Beetle is a two-door small model that comes with some of the advanced interior and exterior features. Just look at the large alloy wheels, two-doors with body colored handles and mid mounted third stop lamp that make Beetle a pretty elegant vehicle. You find here a roof mounted central antenna, anti-intrusion beams that add to the safety of your car, body colored handles, and tinted glasses. You would just love the stylish headlamps and how about the parking sensors and stylish chrome finished tail lamps? Simply killing! Heatable Body Colored ORVMs (Out Side Rear View Mirror) on both sides contribute in making the car a touch me not beauty. I have listed down below some of the most prominent exterior features of Beetle which I found important.

  • Adjustable Headlights
  • Fog Lights - Front and Rear
  • Power Adjustable Exterior Rear View Mirror
  • Electric Folding Rear View Mirror
  • Rain Sensing Wiper
  • Rear Window Wiper
  • Rear Window Washer
  • Rear Window Defogger

Performance

Beetle comes with a 4 cylinder 2.0L petrol engine having the displacement of 1984 cc. The engine can produce the maximum power of 116 PS at 5400 rpm and the maximum torque of 172 Nm at 3200 rpm. Beetle comes with a six speed automatic transmission gearbox which makes it all the more special. As regards the fuel economy of the car, you would be a bit disappointed. Beetle offers the average of just 9 kmpl on the urban roads and on highways you get the average of 13 kmpl. This is a two door hatchback which can accommodate four passengers. The car complies with all the BSIV emission norms.

Overview

Sitting at a restaurant in Munich in 1932, Adolf Hitler, who was a very good painter as well, had designed the prototype of the car what had to become the exceptionally successful Volkswagen Beetle design in the future. When it is Volkswagen, the name itself is enough. And when the car gets such a historical importance, buying it is indeed a prestige issue. Let the vehicle give you an ordinary average in cities as well as on highways; the brand name of Volkswagen will make you buy it for sure. It is a tempting beauty in every way possible; be it the regal exteriors, royal interiors, amazing luxury and safety features, everything!

The cabin space of the car should have been just a bit more; otherwise I am happy with what Beetle offers me. The Ex-showroom price in New Delhi is Rs. 21,34,385. You would love a drive in Beetle for sure!

During the summer months we see the arrival of a multitude of migratory fish. Most importantly Tarpon, Jack Crevalle and large sharks. The Tarpon fishery in the area is generally untouched and offers a chance at fish in the 150+ range. Consistent action with sharks will provide plenty of rod bending action.

One more thing. It’s my opinion that there are numerous travel insurance websites of respectable companies that allow you enter your vacation details and acquire you the quotations. You can also purchase the international travel cover policy on-line by using your current credit card. All that you should do is to enter your own travel specifics and you can understand the plans side-by-side. Merely find the package that suits your budget and needs and then use your credit card to buy the item. Travel insurance on the internet is a good way to begin looking for a dependable company regarding international travel insurance. Thanks for revealing your ideas.
