The Indian car market is set to receive an enchanting gift in the form of Audi A8 this November when Diwali falls.
Yes, Audi, in its bid to capture the luxury car market from Mercedes and BMW, Audi has decided to bring on the model and spice up the competition to altogether a different level.
Yes, since the Mercedes and BMW models has been doing business in India by great guns, Audi’s A8 is believed to be positioned in direct competition with Mercedes S class and BMW 7 series, respectively.
Like most of its previous counterparts, Audi A8 is also believed to be a car of style, elegance, substance and off course the comfort to drive it and be driven in it.
Audi A8 would be available in both petrol and diesel engine units. The diesel engines would be either a 3.0 V6 Tdi with 240bhp found in Audi A4, A6 and Q5 or it could also be a 4.2 V8 Tdi diesel unit with 350bhp that powers Audi Q7 SUV. However, the petrol V8 would have 4.2 DOHC V8 FSI and the range topping W12. A8 has an eight-speed automatic transmission which has paddles on the steering wheel and Quattro four-wheel drive as standard.
The Audi A8 would come loaded with reclining rear seats, massage and foot rests, Active cruise control with a low speed stop and go capability, blind spot monitoring, lane assistance and night vision, a power trunk lid, four-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, additional aluminum interior trim, ambient interior lighting, and full-LED headlamps as well as tail lamps.
The safety features also include a system called pre-sense which activates the hazard lights, closes the windows and sunroof and pre-tensions the seat belts if the brakes are fully applied.
An executive of the company was quipped as saying on various features of the upcoming car in its own class.
The outgoing Audi A8 is priced at 72.45 lakhs and its being speculated that the price of the new car shall hover around the same tag mark.
