TVS Motor Records 5% Sales Growth in May 2009

TVS Motor Company Ltd. has reported five percent growth in its two wheeler sales for May 2009. The company sold 1,18,574 units in May’09, registering 5% rise as compared to 1,12,770 bikes sold in the same month last year.
The company’s domestic bike sales reported a rise of 3%. It sold 22,386 units of scooter in May’09 as compared to 22,931 scooters sold in same period last year.The current recession has also affected the company’s export business, which reported sales of 11,135 units in May’09 compared with 14,071 units in same period last year.
But the company reported 10% exports growth over a previous month. The company exports mostly to the Asian, the African and the Latin American countries.
