TVS Motor Enters Autorickshaw Market

TVS Motor Company (TVSM) on Sunday launched its new autorickshaw model ‘TVS King’ in 3-wheeler market. This version uses LPG and Petrol.
Its price ranges between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.3 lakh. Mr M.K.Stalin (Rural Development and Administration Minister) launched the ‘TVS King’ in the presence of Mr K.N. Nehru (Transport Minister).
Mr Venu Srinivasan (The Chairman and Managing Director of TVSM) said that to top line of the Industry in 18-months, they are going to add Rs 400 crore in this business.
The total three-wheeler market (inclusive of passenger rickshaws and luggage carriers) is estimated at over 400,000 units per annum and the company plans to roll out 30,000 units in the first phase and increase it to 50,000 in 18 months.
- TVS Motor Sr VP (International Business and 3-wheeler) H S Goindi told reporters.
This new TVS King includes new 200cc, seven port engine which offers about 30 kmpl with 18.4 Nm torque at 2500rpm.
