Toyota Increases Car Prices Up to Rs. 50,000
Posted on March 14th 2009Welcome back!
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has hiked the prices of its MUV ‘Innova’ and sedan ‘Corolla Altis’ by up to Rs. 50K from 1st April’09. It’s because of fall of rupee/dollar and yen/dollar and increasing operational and raw material prices.
However, due to unavoidable reasons such as recent changes in the rupee/dollar and yen/dollar exchange rate, we are now required to make necessary revisions in pricing.
- Mr. Sandeep Singh (Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), TKM) said.
After this price hike, Innova’s price would be increased by Rs 10,000 to 25,000 and Corolla Altis’ price would be increased by Rs 10,000 to 50,000.

While Toyota & Honda are bemoaning changes in exchanges rates, nobody is willing to pass on the savings to the customers, on a/c of falling metal and other input rates, lower excise and service tax rates. I wonder how long this fleecing of Indian customers will continue.

Instead of buying costly Toyota I would prefer buying Mahindra xylo. Less Price and good product.
