Posted on July 21st 2010Welcome back!

The zing factor in the Indian automobile market found a new address of justification with the hyped launch of Indian version of Toyota Corolla Altis in the diesel version!
So, is it worth your call, let’s examine!
The corolla Altis has been a quite popular car amongst auto buffs and the addition of the new engine capacity has only escalated its supremacy in the varied sedan league of business.
The new diesel edition has been priced at an introductory price of Rs. 10.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi)
Toyota has introduced three variants for Indian car market which is going under a revolutionary change and called as D4DJ, D4DG & D4DGL, respectively with the top one being tagged at a price of 13.75 lakh.
With the launch of its diesel model, Toyota seems to have placed a sharp bet with Altis and the same is evident from the statements of many company officials.
The new version mainly differs in the engine capacity as the exteriors are more or less the same. The Corolla Altis Diesel sports a 1.4 liter common rail diesel engine that would produce a power of 88.4PS and a torque of 205 Nm.
A company official was quick to add on the features of the new version.
The company is also vying that it has a fantastic mileage of 21.4 kmpl, which in our opinion is excellent and if delivered as promised by the company, may prove as one of the best in the diesel segment.
The car is said to have clocked a phenomenal 14 kmpl on the city roads and touched a superb 24 kmpl when being cruised on highways!
Let’s hope the model lives up to the expectation of its target audiences!
