Welcome back!

tata_logo2.jpgAfter revealing the cheapest car of the world with the price tag of Rs 1 lakh, Indian auto major Tata Motors is now gearing up to hit the other extremes of the market with the new models of their newly attained luxury brands JLR priced in surplus of 1 lakh pounds.

JLR, now owned by India’s Tata group, are drawing up a new business strategy that will take both brand upmarket into the 1,00,000 pound plus pricing territory currently occupied by only a handful of luxury carmarkets such as Bentley.

Earlier this year, Tata group revealed their low-price car Nano, which is expected to arrive on the Indian road in next few months, with a base model cost of Rs 1 lakh. Compared to the Nano, the new versions imagined for JLR would be over 85 times more costly at a cost of more than 1 lakh pounds (over Rs 85 lakh).

Presently, more costly Jaguar model is priced at 80K pounds, while majority of their models are priced between 25K – 75K pounds. For Land Rover, the costliest model is priced at 72K pounds.
