Remember some posts earlier we had updated you on how Tata Nano was lured by the government officials of Taiwan and Malaysia? Here is more on it. Tata Nano is being speculated to make its debut in America and to be lunched soon.

Tata Motor’s wonder car has seen many ups and down ever since its launch in the Indian car market. There have been many instances of the wonder car catching up fire. The car recently caught fire in Ahmedabad. Although the company has installed equipments that can save the car from the fire, it has not been an easy ride for Tata Nano to receive the appreciation of the target audience.

These crucial safety worries make the targeted customer a little skeptical to buy the world’s cheapest car, the Tata Nano.

The Indian auto biggie has plans to launch the Nano in other counties too and thinking of the lines on which to introduce the car. Amongst the counties being targeted, there is a speculation that Tata Nano may be well on its way to America soon. However, if that’s the plan from the auto major, it still has to wait for another two years due to American safety measures.

Tata Group’s chairman, Mr. Ratan Tata was of the opinion that it may be that Tata Nano could go to America soon but Indian car prices won’t be suitable for the American auto market. If Tata Nano gets launched, it would have to be priced at $7000-$8000 for the US car market.

However, he was also of the view that the technology and the philosophy used behind the manufacture of Tata Nano would be similar for US.

Before Tata Motors could carve out plans for a Tata Nano’s America version, it would have to first take care of the safety issues that has definitely rocked the future of a potential product like Nano.

Other issues to watch out if Tata Nano has to make its debut in America is that it has to pull up its socks in areas like powerful petrol engine, redo the NVH, interiors, provide and improve safety measures and luxury features like satellite navigation, climate control, power steering, ABS, airbags and more to match up the standards of American automobile market.
