Tata Nano Safety Under the Microscope!
Posted on June 13th 2011Welcome back!
Well Tata Nano does not seem to be out of the safety issue that has been haunting the car for so many days now. After a respite for the car in the safety segment, it seems the car is back into the storm again. As Tata Nano, arguably the cheapest car in the world again shows signs of it not being fully secure for its passengers.

According to recent reports, another Tata Nano model went up in flames on June 1 and that too, in Vadodra, Gujarat again. According to the reports, the engine of this car from TATA caught fire, which went on to damage the front seat of the car completely. However, there have not been any reports coming out of anybody getting hurt in the entire incident.
The car has experienced this earlier, and this is not the first fire incident for Tata Nano. Reports suggest that last year, Tata Motors had to face a lot of negative publicity as safety for TATA Nano was increasingly being an issue. Last year, as many as 6 incidents of the Nano catching fire in different parts of the country were seen.
However, TATA Motors did make a conscious effort to look into the matter, and make a very safety equipped car. As a result, after a thorough scrutiny of Nano’s design and production methods, Tata Motors did not find any fault with the making of the car last year.
Although, as a compensatory measure, the car company did offer some extra security features. For those who were willing to get their car upgraded, the car company refused to recall the small car units, unlike other car companies like Toyota, Honda for that matter.
The test results that were conducted by Tata Motors on Tata Nano last year resulted to the conclusion that the exhaust pipe and the entire electrical system including the battery of the car needed some ‘optional’ security features, and that even if the car was not equipped with them, still the car did not pose a risk as such. However, with this latest fire incident, it still remains to be seen, as to what would be Tata Motors’ reaction to the mishap.

hi guys, this is not the first incident of a car catching fire. Many such incidents have occurred in the past with most of the famous car brands. You can google about it. Why not get the security fittings offered by the tata motors just to be safe.
