The Car The world saw the cheapest and the most anticipated hatchback car when Tata Motors, the world’s third largest car manufacturers launched all new Tata Nano on 23rd March, 2009. The smallest ever hatchback came to the Indian market and the launch of Tata Nano proved to be a turning point in the development of the Indian automobile industry. After the successful launch of Nano, the global automobile industry smelt the potential of the Indian market and thus Tata ushered the car lovers into a new age of speed. Mr. Ratan Tata always dreamt about making a car for a common man and with the launch of Nano, he could actually realize his dream. Five variants of Nano are present in the market and Nano Lx BSIII is the top end variant of Tata Nano which comes with some additional features like Power Steering, Body Colored Bumpers, Central Locking, Front and Rear Fog Lamps, etc. which were missing in the base variant. Tata Indica Nano Lx BSIII is a variant of Nano which complies all the BSIII emission norms. If you ask about the comfort and convenience of the car, Tata Nano Lx BS III is a car that has been the result of a long research which was based on the study of the Indian conditions. The basic expectations of passengers that the car should provide sufficient head space and leg space are fulfilled in Nano Lx BSIII. A very efficient multi-fuel injection petrol engine makes it all the more special. This is for the first time that a two-cylinder gasoline engine along with a balance shaft has been introduced in the car. The car has been designed in a way that it manages to keep the weight under control; maximizes the engine performance as regards the energy consumption and delivers high fuel efficiency. Exteriors Tata Nano is a small hatchback model in the true sense of the concept. The low cost of the model may make the customers a little bit suspicious about the quality of the material used in the car. However, low costs haven’t affected the elegant looks of the make. A lot of efforts have been invested to give Nano a stylish look like other premium small cars. Tata Nano is a four seater small hatchback model. Interiors As regard the interiors of the car, I don’t think Nano is a disappointment. Considering the fact that Nano is a cheap car, we can hardly expect much from the make. However the interiors of Nano are as elegant as the exteriors. I would say the interior features have been more important deciding factor in the sales of Nano so far. A strong passenger compartment comprising a number of safety features like crumple zones, seat belts, strong seats, intrusion-resistant doors and anchorages and the rear tailgate glass attached to the body of the car can be counted as the main interior features of the car. Fabric upholstery and glove compartment are the other main features of the interiors of Nano Lx BSIII. Moreover, air conditioner, heater and electronic multi-trip meter are the additional features introduced here. Performance Tata Nano came in the Indian market and won the hearts of many. Especially the lower middle class of India saw it as an opportunity to realize their dream of buying a car. All the five variants of Tata Nano are powered by a 0.6L, 624cc petrol engine which produces 35PS power and 48Nm torque. It is said that Tata Nano has pollution level lower than the two-wheelers which are being manufactured in India. This engine gives amazing mileage so that Tata Nano can be called the most fuel efficient car in Indian auto market at present. Excellent fuel efficiency of the car proves the fact that Nano Lx BSIII is a car with very less CO2 emissions. It offers mileage around 19kmpl on the urban roads and on highways it gives an excellent 26kmpl mileage. As has been already mentioned, all the five variants of Tata Nano are powered by 0.6L, 624cc, 2-cylinder, MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) petrol engine with four speed manual gear box. It has been for the first time in Indian automobile industry when a car is being powered by two cylinder gasoline engine. The 624cc power-plant of Tata Nano produces around 35PS power at 5250rpm and 48Nm of maximum torque at 2500~3500rpm. This small car engine produces enough power to reach the mark of 100kmph with excellent fuel efficiency.  Overview Overall, I see Tata Nano Lx BSIII as a perfect buy for everyday use. The car offers a pretty comfortable driving experience on the urban roads and in the heavy city traffic. The car being a small hatchback and its turning radius being just of 4 meters, Nano Lx BSIII can be parked quite comfortably and takes very less time in parking. However the fuel tank of the car being small turns out to be a major drawback. The engine power is lesser than many other cars running in the race today and this makes the car fit only for the city drives and not for the longer journeys on the highways. On longer routes you need the car to quickly reach the top speed. Here Nano Lx BS III is a disappointment. The car doesn’t give you a smooth driving experience on highways and a lot of vibrations put a question mark on the stability of the car.
