Tata Motors to Increase Salaries for 2009-2010

Tata Motors will offer salary rise to its personnel in 2009-2010, though the salary rise won’t be in tune with that of the 2008-09.
There are companies that have not given a raise this year but we are definitely looking at giving wage increases. The increment would be in single digits.
- Mr. Tambe (Tata Motors, HR Vice President) told reporters.
But the company is yet to finalize their salary rise structure and the declaration would be made on 1st July, he added.
Tata Motors’ average salary rise was approximately 12% to 13% last year.
According to Mr. Tambe, since 2008, the company has fixed on to follow a policy whereby salary rises are being set at total cost-to-company level, whereas increasing the basic wage factor was restricted.
