Tata Motors planning to use an e-commerce platform to advertise Nano, which is scheduled to hit a road by an early October. Tatas, it’s learnt, will begin online bookings for its Nano from the month of September 2008.

The industry has no instant plans to issue any new dealership for Nano. Instead, the company has asked their 190 odd already existing dealers countrywide to improve their stores to produce as ambience for the Nano.
Tata Motors will utilize autojunction.com, the e-commerce portal from the mjunction Services, to market a Ra 1 lakh mini car. mjunction Services is the 50:50 joint venture between SAIL & Tata Steel, and concentrates as the business process enhancement company.
It is premature to comment on modes that Tata Motors will adopt for marketing or bookings of Tata Nano. The company has not made any decision or announcement. As for distribution, Tata Motors has a nationwide network of dealers, which naturally will be deployed for Tata Nano as well.
- Mr. Debasis Ray (Tata Motors spokesperson) told.
They can decrease the distribution price by assigning one dealer to distribute responsibilities of online bookings in every city. The customer can show their copy of booking and drive away a car having a dealer as the mere point of contact. The industry will directly send the bookings lists to dealer so that the job becomes easier and simpler for him.
