Tata Motors to Buy 50.7 pc Stake in Pininfarina?

Tata Motors to Buy PininfarinaTata Motors, which had bought the British Luxury brand JLR, may buy the Italian coachbuilder - Pininfarina.

Pininfarina have decided to sell their 50.7% stake at its latest board meeting and it has hired bank to assist it seeks potential suitors.


‘Tata’ is the name linked with stake in Indian market. Pininfarina already has worked with the Tata on its Prima concept. The Tata Prima concept was disclosed earlier 2009 at the 2009 Geneva Automotive Show.

The company source said that the Pininfarina stated Pincar wasn’t hand over the company completely. Their stake’s sales was the part of debt agreement made with banks at 2008-end.

Ferrari 458 Italia is the most recent model of Pininfarina. Other cars the company has designed and are in production now include – Maserati Quattroporte & Granturismo and the Alfa Romeo Brera & Spider, Ferrari California, the 599 GTB Fiorano & 612 Scaglietti.

    I hope so. Pininfarina will give to Tata the best card-esign of the world …. but tata must be faster than bollorè and fiat ….and chinese too.

    It seems to be a great idea and a beneficial one too, but Tata should think well before taking this decision. Tata is anyway set to conquer the global auto market.
