Posted on March 8th 2011Welcome back!

It’s official!
Tata Motors is all set to build car plants outside India. The move would not only help the auto major to realize its globalization dreams but would also help them keep away from higher cost in the export market.
Yes, you have read that completely right! Tata Motors has got extensive plans to build its car plants outside India especially for cars like Indica, Indigo and Nano. Various locations for building these cars are being scrutinized by the company and most likely they may zero in on East Asian, African and South American countries.
Tata Motors is looking dedicated to strengthen its export business. The company is also looking forward to open dealership networks in counties where it has no presence at all.
To ensure all plans fall in place, Tata Motors have hired Johnny Oommen, the former BMW sales head in Qatar to spearhead its international business in passenger cars.
The company showcased its Pixel in Geneva and it’s a hint that it’s keen on entering the European market without losing much time. However, details like the business modules, the models that would be exported and where would the plans be set up are not out yet.
Having said that, one thing is for sure that Tata Motors are seriously looking for some enticing business opportunity outside India for its passenger cars.
It would be interesting to keep an eye on further development and report the same as they happen. And for that, all you have to do is keep an eye on Autoindiaforum.com!
