Tata & Mercedes Join Hands with CWG as Logistics cohorts!

Yes, here we bring to your notice exclusive information about two major automobile companies joining hands with the ensuing Common Wealth Games, scheduled to kick off from 3rd of October, 2010 at New Delhi.

Tata Motors and Mercedes have reportedly joined hands with the games to ferry athletes from various venues throughout this 12 day extravaganza stipulated to draw hordes of people from across the world.

As a part of the deal, Tata would supply 1800 new vehicles to fetch players from airport and venues in exchange for association and advertisement to this mega event as logistics sponsors.

The cost of these new cars is being pegged to be of valued at 140-150 crores.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M & M), Maruti Suzuki (MSIL), & Toyota Kirloskar were others in the foray to clinch the same deal but eventually either bowed out or failed to strike the same.

Amongst the cars to be supplied to the event, 1600 models of Indica & Indigo series in addition to 100 Sumo Grandes and Safaris are believed to be used by Tata Motors.

20 winger vans and 30 trucks would also be pressed in to the service for the movement of players as well as organizers.

As you must know about the Queen’s Baton Relay and the same needs special treatment to be melted out to it and its care would be taken upon by Tata’s flagship brand Land Rover discovery-2.

Not behind is Mercedes Benz which will provide a mix of vehicles for the sporting event from its models of normal cars and also sports utility vehicles (SUV) for the movement of dignitaries.

A mix of 50 Mercedes is believed to be provided by them although it’s not sure as to for what amount the deal have been zeroed in on.

Once the event gets over, the used car is being assured by Tata that they would be sold through their own used cars channel.

According to Tata Motors, the used car value would depreciate by a margin of at least 20 percent meaning an effective deal worth 30 crores.

We are supplying these vehicles for advertisement benefits and would not like to disclose the commercial implication of the entire deal,” Mercedes Benz India Executive said “The exact quantum of the deal would be determined by the class of vehicles that would be taken by the organizers. A final decision on the deal has not been taken yet,

Tata spokesperson was quoted as saying on the various actions to be carried out during the event.

So, get ready to see more of Tata & Mercedes models during the Common Wealth Games (CWG) at Delhi and do not get amused as to what are they up to!
