This new Indigo comes with new headlamps, tail lamps, new interiors, new bumpers and a great boot. Tata follows its naming convention of ending all their car names with an A (Indigo Marina, Indica, Vista etc.) and the Indigo Manza is no exception.

The on road prices for the Manza in Mumbai are (all prices in INR):

Model Name Petrol (Safire90 engine) Diesel (quadrajet90)

Tata Manza Aura+ 6,68,000 7,64,000

Now let us take a deeper look at the car and lets see what makes this latest release from Tata one of the best sedans on the market.

Engine :

The petrol engine of this car uses a Continuous Variable Cam Phased which adjusts the valve timings and intervals for delivering power. It also features an electronically controlled Intelligent Port Resizer (IPR) function which is aimed to deliver perfect balance between power and economy. On the other hand the Quadrajet diesel engine comes with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger for smooth engine performance which along with an aluminum bedplate and superior insulation reduces NVH levels and provides substantial power to weight ratio. It also features a Drive by Wire technology which eliminates throttle lag leading to a much faster and smoother response. Both these engines are Fiat make and are powered by 5+1 speed manual transmission. The petrol engine of the Manza will feature a CRDi fuel system and the diesel variant will feature FSI.

In addition to this the Manza delivers an mileage of 15-16kmpl on the highway and 11-12kmpl in city traffic for the petrol variant and of 16-17kmpl on the highway and 12-14kmpl in the city for the diesel variant, which is better than most other sedans in the segment

Handling and driver comfort :

The Tata Manza features a twist beam suspension. In city driving conditions, being soft, the suspensions provide perfect comfort and handles pot holes and speed breakers with considerable ease, making the car a cakewalk to drive. The car handles perfectly on high speed highways too although it’s not as good as some of the other higher sedans currently available in India. But this is to be expected as the Indigo Manza is more of a family car than a sports sedan. The transmission on both the variants of the car is exceptionally smooth and comfortable.

Design and Interiors :

The Manza features sweeping angular headlamps and a a double projector barrel shaped reflector that make it particularly attractive looking. It also has a big front grill with four horizontal lines and a big Tata logo with chrome finish. In addition with black front and rear bumpers, elegant vertical tail lamps and an attractive shape the car looks exceptionally good from the outside.

The interiors of the car are extremely spacious and comfortable. It has generous amounts of leg room in the front and the rear, even for a six and half foot relative. The power steering and head rest on the front seats are adjustable. It features a rear armrest, driver’s seat which is height adjustablet, power windows, air conditioning, a music player with Bluetooth and USB support, a centrally mounted MID (Multiple information display) for the driver and high quality fabric seat covers etc. It also features internally adjustable rear view mirrors.

The new range of advanced safety features in Tata Manza includes crash-tested Cockpit Design, Dual Front Airbags, Antilock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and Front Disc Brakes. Passive safety features are Side Impact Beams, Front Seatbelts with adjustable height, Warning Lamp for Driver Seatbelt, Front Passenger Seatbelt Reminder, Child Locks and Central Locking. Wider tubeless tyres with alloys option are also available.

Conclusion :

The Tata Manza was launched in 8 variants, 4 petrol and four diesel variants. It comes in 7 color choices, the gold satin, minimal grey, grey noir, monarch red, dew white, infinity black and breeze blue. The price of the basic variants start at less than 5 lacs and that makes it very attractive for price to performance ratio. There are a few drawback of this car namely, no passenger side outside read mirror on base models, no alloy wheel for even the top models, no climate control system on any of the models, quality of some plastics especially of power windows not up to mark and there are some unattractive looking panel gaps on the dashboard.

But even with these entire drawbacks the Manza makes a fantastic car and offers heavy competition to other sedans. All the models of Manza come with front power windows, audio systems with Bluetooth and USB support, central locking, power steering and air conditioning. This car is build with the latest technology and has better interiors, more space and luxury than others in the same price range can offer making it a very good buy.

    - Horrible. Drove for less than 10000 Kms. but Radiator assembly, Steering rack and pinion replaced. Still noise from suspension is coming for which the dealers are struggling to find the solution and company is pleasantly sleeping over it. There is a hot pipe inside the cabin under the front panel which is uncovered. The dealer says it is a standard feature. ( Wonder how these cars get CMVR approval). Car shock absorbers bottom when the tyre hits the bump and entire front panel shakes… Overall a horror. First and last time bought a TATA car and advise all not to buy it until you have lot of time to waste at the service stations. Already rust has appeared on the bonnet supporting bar which again is normal, as per the dealers. Infact, I met one gentleman during one of my frequent visits to the service station where he showed me his car ( 15 k kms.) full of rust. I am preparing myself for that horror also….

Thanks for the suggestions you have contributed here. Moreover, I believe there are some factors that will keep your auto insurance premium all the way down. One is, to contemplate buying cars and trucks that are within the good directory of car insurance businesses. Cars which might be expensive are more at risk of being robbed. Aside from that insurance policies are also depending on the value of your car, so the more pricey it is, then higher a premium you have to pay.
