Introduction:

Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLS TC is the base variant from Tata Motors. All that this car gives you in the category of features is a power steering which is basic and air conditioning. But the car boasts of a very dreaded diesel engine; the 1.4L turbo MPFI engine. This engine is way too good in the family car segment and would do tremendously well for Tata Motors.

Exteriors:

The design technically has not changed in the many years after the launch of the first Tata Indica. The Tata Indica V2 is nearly the same features. There is the typical strong grille pattern with the Tata Symbol. There a re nice carved and cut headlamps which make the look even more attractive and there are those nice rear vertically extended tail lights that even the earlier version of the Tata Indica showed off.

In the interiors of the car, as we move on to the car’s cabin, a nice console has been attached to the new system. Also nice fabric is given to the seats. Head rests and arm rests have been incorporated. But other than that most of the things have the similar treatment. The plastic quality again has to improve. The car provides with A/C vents for its powerful AC and necessary lights in the interiors. Space wise too nothing much has changes. The car is spacious in the rear with average spacing given between the front and the rear seats. The base variant doesn’t have much features though.

Performance:

The Indica V2 Turbo DLS TC is a great strong and powerful diesel engine. This car is magnificently built and is a great robust structure. The car is strong chassis on which this really tough model has been integrated. The car has 1.4 L, 4 cylinder inline turbo engine. The car is powered with 62 brake horse power which works at 4500 revolutions and generates a torque of 12 Kgm at 2500 rpm. This car is super fast and with a 5-speed transmission gear box, turbo diesel engine and front wheel drive. All this makes the car the best drive in its segment with respect to power. The main feature of this car is its big 1.4L turbo engine. The car suffices Bharat stage III emission norms according to the ARAI certificate. The car engine is so much better that rest of the cars in the segment that it can zoom in at high speeds with all the ease. The car lacks good pick up though. The car engine is found on the slower side while you are driving on twists and turns. The car manages to give a superb mileage. This car gives a petrol version tough competition as fuel economy is concerned. The car gives a great 14.0 kmpl in city and around 19.0 kmpl on the highway. This is it’s another feature.

Overview:

There are two main points of the Indica Turbo V2; the car built is one point and the fuel economy the other. The car drive though is one point which needs some improvement. The car gear shift needs much more improvement and really would make the efficiency of the drive a world of good. The car has a good AC but while it is on, it has side effects on the drive. This point is a big drawback of the engine. Also the diesel is a bit noisy and the engine refinement level should be developed. Also, the car has its share of maintenance problems. The car spares are cheaper, but the overall service of the car is a whole lot a headache. The diesel engine really needs much maintenance and would cost you in the mean while. The base variant is sold at around 3, 72, 000 rupees. (Ex-showroom price Delhi).
