Tata should stick to building trucks. I own a Ford and I test drove the Grande Gx today. Found the build and design very interesting. Engine was really very receptive - if a bit noisy. Tyres are really big. Paint and outside build finish good. But the interiors really sucked. The Auto power window button didn’t work in its so called ‘one-touch’ mode. The door handles are so flimsy, one came off in my hands. When I asked to see the engine, I couldn’t because the cable that activates the release had broken. The rear cup-holder came off in my hands. And the front dashboard is a shrine to the cheapest of cheapest plactic. Steering wheel lacked chunkiness. The on-road price came to 8.78 lakhs. A bit too much for something that comes with little or no refinement.
