Skoda is planning new strategies, especially for its Indian market and, news is that the Czech car company is all set to make a new sub cast of the Fabia.With increasing number of automobile companies making it to the Indian automobile market, Czech automobile giant Skoda is no exception. According to the latest developments in the Indian car market, Skoda India is planning to make the presence felt in every car segment. As per auto reports, two cars from Skoda India namely the Skoda Fabia and the Skoda Rapid, and moreover both these were spotted while executing road tests in Pune. To add to this, Skoda India has already announced that the company is going to manufacture a compact, family segment car, which will be of a lower range below Skoda Fabia, just for the Indian market.

Thomas Kuehl Skoda India, Sales and marketing chief has stated that the auto company has it in mind to launch an entry level compact family car in its segment, which will come at a price tag between 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 INR in India by the year 2013, and which will compete with cars like Swift, Ritz, i10 etc. According to news, Skoda India has confirmed that the small segment car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

However, major portion of the car parts are going to be made in India itself. Also, complying with the latest custom norms, the company is actually planning to manufacture 70 percent of the main auto parts and spares in the Chakan plant of Volkswagen, where other Skoda cars like the Skoda Fabia, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento are presently being manufactured.

But speculations and other news are being spread about the design, and about its orginality. With some auto experts saying that the small car from Skoda will be a look alike of the Lupo-based Youngster, some people still think that Skoda’s new invention will share the same platform with the smaller hatchback of the Polo, which is due from Volkswagen

With respect to the price of this segment, reports suggests that Skoda Fabia price will be parallel to the Maruti Wagon R, and the much popular Hyundai i10 cars, which are strong established players in the family hatchback car segment. With the Skoda Fabia Scout still in the pipeline, the presence of Skoda India in the Indian auto industry will still be marked by the grand sedans like Skoda Laura, Skoda Superb and its newly designed mid-sized SUV, the Skoda Yeti.
