Since the official announcement of Tata Nano to this day, the automobile industry of India has seen a buzz of fresh change as more and more prominent players from across the globe has been targeting and announcing their small cars here.

The company has studied the viability factor of the Indian small car and all set to launch their small car positioned for India in the price band of 3-5 lakhs.

To give you a peep about other set of events up the sleeve of the company is that it in collaboration with collaboration with none other than Volkswagen is also to chug out its sports utility vehicle (SUV), Yeti and also on the way is a stripped-down version of its premium hatchback, Fabia, in India by the year end.

Also down the pipe line is that India shall see also the dawn of its sedan in the price band of 6-10 lakhs INR in 2011.

We had announced to roll out one new model every year. As part of this strategy, we will enter the volume segment and will launch a small car in early 2012,

It will be below the Fabia… Our aim is to price in the Rs 3-5 lakh category.

Skoda Auto India board member and director (Sales & Marketing), Mr. Thomas Kuehi was quipped as saying on different activities from the house of the company in the near future.

It would be tempting to see the onset of these cars announced by various car makers and surging competition in the future.

Rest assured, the sole beneficiary of this would eventually be the end user and it’s surely a great sign for our economy to revive and become a more customized and devoted buyers’ market.
