Sesto Elemento and Aventador to be out on the race tracks

Posted on May 18th 2011

Welcome back!

Lamborghini has given a clear indication that its Paris show-stealing Sesto Elemento concept car will make it to the production line. Also the Italian grand car maker has revealed that the concept super car will follow a low-volume production strategy and that too with a much higher anticipated price tag of around 2 million euros.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and Aventador

Stephan Winkelmann, one of the Lamborghini bosses has although officially refused  to showcase this car and has estimated the chances of it making to the production floor at more than 50 %, some close company sources say that the ‘Sesto Elemento’ is actually in the advanced stages of its development.

But talking to the press Winkelmann made a sure statement that the Sesto Elemento will have a 0-100kph acceleration in approximately 2.5sec, which is a lesser time than what it takes for the grand luxury car of 1183bhp, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to get to a mark of 100kph.

The Sesto Elemento is on the same line as that of the Gallardo which is derived from a 5.2-litre V10 engine. But the main body of the car is exceptionally light weight as it is made from the ‘sesto elemento’ which is the sixth element in the element table, that is carbon. To keep to this self-imposed and ultra-ambitious weight limit of getting the car to weigh less than a ton, the Sesto Elemento is said to be staying well within the boundaries of the racing track. This decision is but logical and that is because of its obvious racing design, extreme nature, absolutely sleek cabin and highly experimental forged carbon fibre body means that the homologation issues will really be a major concern for the engineers to make this super car a possibility to run on local roads.

Automobili Lamborghini which is commonly referred to as ‘Lamborghini’ is an Italian automaker. This great company which made a name for it self was founded by manufacturing magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963 with the aim to produce refined grand touring cars so as to compete with the already established car makers like Ferrari. The company’s first ever model was released in the mid-1960s, and was noted for its fine refinement, brute power, and lavish comfort.

Lamborghini gained wide acclaim from all across the world in the late1960 for the magnificent design of Miura sports coupé, which established a mid-engine design as a standard layout for all the high-performance cars of that era. After one decade or so of rapid growth, hard times befell the company in the mid-1970s, as sales plunged in the wake of the year1973 due to the world financial downturn and oil crisis. After going through all the hard times, the bankruptcy and three changes in its ownership, Lamborghini finally came under the corporate umbrella of the Chrysler Corporation in 1987. From then, Lamborghini actually have not looked back.

Now if you’re a fan of the best car of the year winner Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, check out the brand-new sizzling hot creature from Lambo. It showcases the Aventador outracing; the apocalypse in a stunning and stylized ways completed with gaping sinkholes opening up, rock spires shooting through the ground and an ominous fog rolling in to swallow up the fierce raging bull would be the new description to the Lamborghini Aventador. All of which, of course, fails to silence the red Lambo.

The Aventador and the Sesto Elemento, which we first saw at the 2011 and 2010 Geneva motor show in March respectively, provides with awesomeness at a 690-hp V12 engine with a gorgeous Haldex four-wheel-drive system. Also this very monster inside has an automated cum manual transmission. If you want to have a glimpse of the other number then the Aventador just excels in everything with a top speed of 217 mph and, hold your breath- a phenomenal 0-to-60 mph time in something less than 2.9 seconds; these stats are are as impressive as one would desire in the car of one’s dreams. But this is reality and Lamborghini are firm about this being a super duper hit.

According to the Lamborghini management, the company has received more than a year’s worth of orders for the all new Lamborghini Aventador, which stickers for something hugely priced as much as $379,700. All this is with respect to the additional gas-guzzler tax, in the United States, that has been included in the figure. The car will arrive in the second half of this year.

Aug27lambofan i share your excitement. i just went by the Lambo daheerslip that in Boni High Street, sadly it has not opened yet. The Gallardo is one of the best looking sports car to mee and it combines high performance with the safety of AWD. i am hoping they do launch a road legal Super Trofeo version with it’s radical front spoiler and hopefully 630BHP to out muscle the Porsche GT2RS and new McLaren. Now that would be a fittimg send off for Lambrghini’s most successful sports car chassis.
