Skoda Company has started the production of the Citigo, a small city car at the Frankfurt motor show. Series production of this new model Citigo has been started by the Skoda Company that is based on the Volkswagen Up. As there is demand for small cars in India, this small car Citigo will do better in India. The production for the city car Citigo has been started in the manufacturing plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. Skoda has started the production of Citigo, the entry level small car segment for markets in many developed countries.

If the Citigo gets success in making its way in the market of India, the Skoda Citigo is going to settle into the B segment market since their A-Segment cars are a notch below the Citigo in terms of price, build quality and technology. By the end of the present year, this small car Citigo will be surely made available in home market of Czech Republic. Another version of the Citigo three door version will be also made available this year. Another version called five door versions will debut in next year in the year 2012. This small car Citigo will find its way to Markets around Europe next summer. Plans for India are not still finalized.

Since Czech manufacturer already started the production of Citigo at its advanced production facility, Skoda Company is celebrating the beginning of a wonderful new chapter in its self-important history. Citigo car is available with a width of 1.65 meters, a height of 1.48 meters and length of 3.56 meters. It is amid the most compact models. It looks small on outside however is big on inside. It provides enough space for 4 adults to sit and travel comfortably. New standards have been set for occupant safety. It has been for the first time that a thorax side airbag as well as front passenger can be seen in the new Skoda model.

In combination with a few other advanced technologies like the City Safe Drive active brake assistant, the new small car Citigo will surely provide drivers a brilliant passive security package. Citigo car is available with the choice of two 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines developing 60 as well as 75bhp.
