Second Car Plant from General Motors

GM’s second plant is expected to begin its manufacturing from the month of September in country. The plant may have the production capacity of 140K units and shall produce small cars to compete with the market heads like Maruti, Tata – Nano etc. in a small car segment.
The new plant is placed in Talegaon, Maharashtra. GM has its existing plant in West Gujrat that makes Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Aveo and Travera. It’s presently working on raised capacity of making 85K units yearly. They expect to satisfy the increasing demand for their cars and control operational efficiencies with their raised capacity.
GM recorded sales of 5,706 units in the month of July which is 25% more than their sales in same month last year.
