This baby Rolls Royce was launched in India for approximately 2.5 crore, which is the cheapest Rolls Royce on the Indian market. This car is not only wider and longer than BMW 7 Series but also the Mercedes S class. It has a monstrous engine that can propel the car to 100 kmp in less than 5 seconds! The company is already taken orders for the Ghost and will start delivering in the first quarter of 2010.

20% of the parts used in the Ghost will be from BMW F01 platform which currently powers the current BMW 7 series, although the design, size and wheelbase etc are all unique. The company has declared that the Ghost will use a twin turbo 6.6l V12 engine which will produce 575hp of power controlled by an eight speed automatic transmission. It’s expected that the car will weigh around 2350 kilograms.

Rolls Royce had initially unveiled a concept car, in 2009 during the Geneva Motor Show, named 200EX on which the Ghost is based. Unlike the Phantom the Ghost will be made of steel instead of aluminum. This enables the body of the car to be thinner, since steel has a higher tensile strength than that of aluminum. The chassis of this car will use an intelligent 4 corner air suspension system with a multi link aluminum rear and front axles. Almost all the systems like the Active Roll Stabilization, variable damping control and four corner suspensions operate in tandem providing the driver and the passengers of the car the highest possible comfort. The all new uber sensitive air suspension is connected to the main computer and will detect the movement of every single passenger. That means if you move from one side to another the computer will detect it and adjust the suspensions dynamically. 20% of all the electronics is shared with the BMW 7 series. Even some components of the chassis are from the BMW stable except that the Ghost will use Phantom like air springs.
Since the Ghost is build on order it offers a range of customization options. The base price of the car is 2.5 crore and customization extra so its gonna be a hell of an expensive ride. Even the base model of this baby Rolls is a true luxury car, a trademark of the Royce brand ever since its inception. The ghost feels elegant and comes with amazingly well done interiors and the latest and the meanest car accessories for maximum comfort.

The Ghost features Frosted headlamps, sexy chrome door handles, frosted dials, modern instrumentation, luxury carpets made of lamb wool and the traditional key switches. The interiors are truly made for ones with blue blood. This car should make anybody’s eyes pop out and turn in to a pool liquid ecstasy. The wicked cool V12 engine allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 in about 4.8 seconds. The top speed of this car is electronically limited to 155mph.

This latest offering from the Rolls Royce stable is no baby. It’s truly one of the most luxurious, modern and fast cars of our time. If you have a lot of money to blow and want a fast and luxurious sedan look no further. It’s sure to be the envy of your neighbors.
