Renault Bajaj New Small Car Coming Soon
Posted on May 1st 2008Welcome back!
Renault Bajaj union has already begun their project to produce a low price car, and they started their working in Chakan near Pune, Maharashtra. Now they will announce the last details of their project in some weeks.

The small car plan has been generally seen as an effort to competitor Nano, was previously influenced by BAL (Bajaj Auto Ltd) and Renault and after joined by Nissan, in which the French firm has 44.4% stake.Renault already has a joint-venture with M&M in India. Logan is its successful mid-size sedan model. But Renault’ joint venture with Bajaj shall be completely different from Mahindra & Mahindra as Mahindra wants to become a global-player in the SUV segment. So, they are not interested in the small car plan/project as of now.
We’re sticking to our objectives of a 4.5 percent operating margin for 2008… and we are maintaining our volume growth projection of more than 10 percent. The first months of the year have not been easy. Everything suggests that the next few months will not be either, given an economic and financial environment that is both unfavorable and volatile.
- Mr. Carlos Ghosn (Head of Renault) told a Renault shareholder general assembly.

Small cars are the latest trend in India and after unveiling the Tata Nano, other car makers are joining the race. I read about them Bajaj-the two wheeler makers to make small car clubbing with Nissan-Renault.
