Range Rover Evoque, the latest SUV marvel has achieved yet another milestone by grabbing the 2012 Import SUV of the Year title at the CNBC TV 18 Overdrive Awards. Although this a great achievement for the newest sensation in the SUV segment in the country, this isn’t the only one as it is a recipient to many such accolades across the world, 34 international awards to be accurate.

At the CNBC awards, Range Rover Evoque was bestowed upon the 2012 Import SUV of the Year title for unparalleled contribution in both, technology and design. In the league, for the this award, were some of the big names like Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes G55 AMG and BMW X5 but the bold yet suave Range Rover Evoque was the one to take it home. The fact that it has achieved so many international awards speaks itself about the product and its stand in the auto industry.

Head of Premier Car Division, Jaguar Land Rover India, Rohit Suri speaking about winning the award said that, “the company was immensely exuberant and charged up after registering the CNBC TV18 Overdrive’s Import SUV of the Year Award under its name.” He also said that, “This award, along with firming the company’s position in the Indian market, would offer a strong push to its growth in the country.”

What set Range Rover Evoque aside from rest in its league and lead to it bagging the award were points like its classy and bold design and its advanced and creative technology that is easy to use. The team of panelists at the CNBC TV 18 Overdrive Awards included the senior editorial team of Overdrive along with industry experts, Vicky Chandok; President of FMSCI, Armaan Ebrahim; FIA GP2 racer and Sarath Kumar, National Motorcycling Champion. WRC driver, Gaurav Gill and Hari Singh, 5-time INRC winner also contributed in the decision of presenting Range Rover Evoque with the award and they especially appreciated the terrain response of the SUV along with its exemplary engine, electronic systems and transmission which makes it the best in all three category, power, handling and comfort.
