Proton Motors Testing SAGA & PERSONA In India

Malaysian auto manufacturer Proton Motors has yet not confirmed their Indian plans however the industry has previously initiated testing few of their cars on the Indian roads.

The 1.3L Saga and 1.6L Persona saloon were being trialed on Bigger Noida Expressway prior this week which provides credibility to persistent rumors about the Proton entering Indian car market. According to reports the industry is seeking for making and design union with the BVR Subbu lead Argentum Motors which have purchased assets of erstwhile Daewoo Motors India plant in a Surajpur near Noida.

Both Proton and Argentum companies refused to comment on topic. Proton in the history has had ineffective talks with numerous players involving HM and Sonalika Group. The industry is discussing to the Argentum motors for contract production of their vehicles which would assist them avoid building significant investments needed to put up making manufacturing facility.

The Argentum temporarily has facilities for manufacturing full vehicles and powertrains at their Surajpur facility.

Proton is dynamically looking for the markets outer Malaysia as they struggling with brakes in sales and high price/car due to lack of economies of the scale.
