Performance and power

The capabilities of this car cannot be judged or restricted. Once the power band comes into effect, the car literally turns into a mind jumbling rocket. You might need a computer to handle the power of the car. If you are in a bad mood, then this is so not the vehicle for you as serious damage can be done. The entire deign of the engine is done in order to get power type response. Race shifting pedals are given to give a perfect rev. Power shifting of the car immediately gets it in to race mode.

Unlike the other sports series cars, it has a button that enables the car into race mode. The Porsche Cayman, understands the shifting and changes it modes automatically. The Cayman has a mid-mounted six-cylinder boxer engine featuring VarioCam Plus technology, which creates two engines out of one, switching seamlessly between them as driver introduces changes. Ideally positioned directly behind the driver, this ‘flat-six’ engine provides an exceptionally low centre of gravity. The variable valve system with lower engine speed generates additional torque along with other beneficiary features like greater top-end power, better fuel economy, and lower exhaust-emissions.

The base version is as powerful as the top version. The Porsche Cayman Base variant comes with a 2.7-litre H6 boxer engine that delivers 245 bhp. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the Base variant and a 6-speed manual transmission is available as an option. The Cayman S variant is powered by a 3.4-litre H6 boxer engine that generates 295 bhp. The S variant is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. Both variants are available with the option of a five-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. Porsche’s Tiptronic S five-speed automatic comes with a manual-shift provision.

Looks and styling

The instrument panel in the Base variant have black faces, while those in the S variant are white. The interior layout for both variants is similar with a steep dashboard, a three-spoke steering wheel, and well-bolstered comfortable seats. Genuine leather trimmings for the steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake lever, and door handle facings are standard. One of the unique features offered due to its mid-engine layout is that it has two trunks: one under the hood and one under the rear hatch. The combined space equals 14.5 cubic feet in the Cayman and 14.1 cubic feet in the Cayman S. This shows how well the interiors are designed for luxury and power. Interiors of the car can be designed according to your requirements too. This is one of the best options available, when it comes to customization.

All wheels come with standard anti-theft protection. The exteriors of the car help in giving it a sporty look.
