Porsche Boxster Review

The car itself looks stunning and attractive due to the color and logo of a German auto maker. The Porsche Boxster is one of the preferred cars that are in the mid segment for power and luxury. The mid sports car is simply superb to handle and has good output too. The 2-seater roadster receives A+ for impressive handling characteristics and superb performance. The car has a beautifully stylized exterior that follows traditional Porsche design, and the interior is classy with full leather upholstery. The Boxster competes with the SLK-Class from Mercedes-Benz. The most recent update to the Boxster series was introduced in 2009. The base model gained 10 horsepower, thanks to a new 2.9-liter V6. It now delivers 255 hp at 6500 rpm and 214 pound-feet of torque between 4600 and 6000 rpm.

Power and Performance
The 2010 model has a super exhaust system, which generates an errant noise. This ensures that you have a good time while power shifting. The engines are enhanced by ‘VarioCam Plus’ valve timing technology that enables them to generate more power and deliver improved mileage. The roadster comes with PASM active suspension system that offers continuous adjustment of individual damping settings to suit different road conditions and driving styles. The Boxster S comes with a firmer sport suspension for a sportier ride.The Porsche Boxster is Available in two variants - Base and S. The base model is powered by a 2.7L 6-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 245 bhp whereas the ‘S’ is equipped with a 3.2L 6-cylinder boxster engine that churns out 295 bhp. The Boxster can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. Both variants come with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed Tiptronic S automatic. The gear shifts on the transmission can be adjusted to put the car in ‘Economy’ or ‘Sport’ mode. The car gives better mileage in economy mode but its performance is reduced.

The instrument panel has a sporty three-gauge design and the audio system is premium Bose surround sound. For convenience, parking assist and navigation systems are available.The exterior of the car is also superbly stylized. With latest technology on board, lots of detailed results can be obtained. Ducts and directional spoilers play a key role in moving air around and through the Boxster, cooling the radiators as well as the brakes. A spoiler extends out of the car’s rear when the speed reaches over 75 mph, ensuring down force and stability. The Boxster’s drag coefficient is remarkably low at just 0.29.
