The car The Porsche 911 Targa has got the looks and feel of a sports car. Yes this model is one of the oldest one in the list of 911 cars ever produced by Porsche. The car has its own features and specs which ensure to give the kick of a sports thruster at the right time. Driving the Targa on Indian roads is simply superb as it has excellent drive features which make the car one of the best in the class of sports car. The Targa has all wheel drive system which ensures fast acceleration with less utilization of fuel. All wheel drive system is used by Porsche in most of their sports cars. Luxury wise the car is not that great since it’s a sports car. You get automatic welcome function in the car when you open the doors. The car does have simplicity in its interiors and this is what makes the Targa different from a Cabriolet or the Turbo. The entire roofing of Porsche 911 Targa is done in Alcantara, it ensures you get styling in the right pattern. One of the striking features of Porsche 911 Targa is that you can customize the interiors according to your requirements; you get to select the trim and color for the interiors of the car. The interiors of Targa have air bags system which is deployed by onboard computer when you meet with an accident. The exteriors of Porsche Targa are designed according to performance. Even if luxury is available in the Targa one should not forget that it breathes in the league of sports cars, intervention of performance parts will be seen. One of the striking features in the exterior section is the retractable rear end spoiler. Yes after you reach a certain speed the rear end spoiler is activated and raised by the onboard computer. Such type of engineering requires high precision. The rear end spoiler keeps air drag flow down and gives the car extra grip on corners. Titanium colored logo is given on the rear end of the car. It shows the main Porsche emblem in rich style on the rear boot door of the car. Underbody paneling is seen which keeps the car intact in rains or from heavy mud and dirt. Performance of the car This is the section where the Targa performs in terms of its engine power. The Targa takes 5.3 seconds for north to 60 kmph speed. Red line the car and you will get a top end speed of 180 kmph. 325 BHP of raw power is generated by the 6 cylinder Boxer engine. 370 NM of torque is given by the Targa engine at 4250 RPM. Driving the car in city is fun as the height is slightly increased, the Indian version has raised suspension to go smooth over bumps and pot holed roads. This is one of the innovations from the German car maker which is required for Indian roads. Value of the car The car is easy to maintain too but has lots of engine issues. They are taken care by Porsche but it requires a lot of time as this car is not built in India. Apart from all these problems the Porsche 911 Targa in undoubtedly the best sports car available in the market. Verdict Go for it if you wish to enjoy luxury and speed combination. Targa a real beauty with all features meeting the standards of Porsche. But the cost is too high. even in India they are offered in such high cost i don’t feel so it will a have a good platform.
