Welcome back!

It was a Sunday and I could see the moon while leaving for Mumbai. It was dark and the moon’s reflection could be seen on the B9 R window. The sound of super cars was already revving my mind. The need or the want to go for the event was nothing compared to the dreams last night of the event. The moon disappeared in the sunlight and my dreams were shattered by the sun. The time had come as I finally reached Mumbai and had to board a taxi.

Well the site was not that great as I was sitting in a true Italian engine. Yes the Fiat Taxi. As I reached the destination I could hear loud revving from the parking lot. In a blink of an eye a red scarlet just passed me. The Parx XXX Super Car show had just begun. With the loud exhaust note was a Ferrari 599 GTB. The car had made me deaf for good. The entrance of the entire arena was covered with uniformed men.

All the machines which are usually seen in crayon colors were all lined up for the big event. The Prancing horse segment or bay was not confirmed and that left the F430 to be outside for some time. The entire parking lot of Vidhan Bhavan was covered in smoke and sound of heavy engines. The site was a dream to see and hard to believe. It was like a playing ground for these beauties. Well the list of all cars starts from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Audi, BMW and Rolls Royce. All these top notch cars were left in the parking lot to be clicked and played. The entry into the show was bit difficult but was managed as AutoIndiaForum was one of the media present to capture the Parx XXX Super Car Show. The need of so much power is required when you have the capacity to handle. Below waist line cars were present in the arena which was fast too. The whole set up was wonderful and had a charm. The line up of all cars was like crayon set in a compass box. Red, yellow, blue, silver, black and white were all present. For security reasons the entry was for those who have been invited for the show. Chaos was present in bulk as spectators and car enthusiasts gathered to get a glimpse of European engines.

Around 11am it sounded like a war when the revving session was started. The Nariman point area was soon crowded with car enthusiasts. The sound generated by these monsters was loud enough to crack the windows of the Air India building besides. Gautam Singhania had organized the show with the help of Percept Corporation. He himself is a car collector. His interest in the Lamborghini was great as he had the keys to it. Gautam Singhania and others were car freaks and their passion could be seen in the beauties they had got. Poonawalas were present in their Ferrari and Rolls Royce. The car show was won by Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 followed by Aston Martin and in third place was the Ferrari 599GTB.

In the revving sessions the car were kept idle for some time and as the line up started slowly the engine rpm went to 6000 and above. High tuning was the key to such high noise, this is the general outlook of the public who had come there. A correction can be done to the above sentence, this is the usual exhaust of a V12 pumping. No guns attached neither any missiles but the noise generated by the huge V12 engine is very loud and mind shattering. The make of these cars is truly European. Though Japanese manufacturers were present too the competition was bit felt uneasy for the Japs. Nissan Skyline could be seen in the show which was bit modified. The exhaust of the car was tuned up for performance. Its grey colored looks were mean and wild. It didn’t even leave any space for the Italian or the German to go ahead. Apart from the Japanese Germans made sure to make it loud and big. BMW and Mercedes Benz were present to cover the show.

There were various models which had modification from AMG. Mercedes AMG coupe and sports class cars were present. Convertibles and coupe cars made the even bit louder by their carbon fiber exhausts. These cars could easily outrun any other machine on Mumbai streets. At 12sharp the parade was launched. It covered various spots like the Marine Drive, Fountain, Siddhi Vinayak Temple and the famous Bandra Worli Sea Link. As these cars passes through Carter road huge public was accumulated to see the colors in moving.

The cars came back around 1pm in to the shelter again. Welcome of the cars was done truly chequered flag style. XXX drink was given to all the owners and fans that were present in the show. The lot of super cars was again colorful with the powerful machines on board. Lamborghini India edition could be seen in the lot. It had the tri color band on its doors and on the rear bonnet of the car. The Indian version of Lamborghini Gallardo had its suspension increased. The rise in suspension was given due to the bumpy road and high raised speed breakers in India. The Ferrari 599GTB and the F430 were comforting their engines in the shade provided.

Two Rolls Royce were spotted in the show which were huge like trucks. The size of the engine was as big as entire Maruti car. These two beauties made their way into the show in a style. It was Royal to look at them in one line. These cars were huge and a part of the Super Car parade. The entire event was handled by the Mumbai Traffic Police. They had the power to come between these fast cars and ensure everything went smooth. The entire team of cars were directed and handled in précised manner by Mumbai Police. They received special thanks from Gautam Singhania. One of the stealth cars was the Aston Martin. Its presence was unnoticed until the name was called. Therefore the job was done in perfect manner. The white colored Aston Martin was present through out the show in its cave. The revving session insisted the Aston Martin to charge up its engine.

Maserati was present too in white colored outfit. The royal Maserati was rattling its engine in the revving session. All the oil cooled cars were steaming hot when the event was about to end. The winner as said was the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560. Champagne was opened and special thanks ceremony took place. The event was created in the all the blocks of the suburbs as these cars passed by with high speed. As the event was over it was time to head back. An Italian engine still revs in the mind not because it won the event but it is the best. Though the others were present but one that makes the mark is important and which leaves an unending trail even after it has left. Ending the day with true thoughts and a mission accomplished with the tag line. So was the event the mission or the Lamborghini sightings. Waiting for the Next year Parx Super car event which will be held in Mumbai.
