Posted on February 14th 2008

Welcome back!

tata_logo1.jpgTata Motors signed a deal with Moteur Development International (MDI), to manufacture the vehicle which powered with compressed air. This project will come within the year.

Government of Thai is also planning to work out with the Tata Motors to produce the best cars in the Thailand.

OneCAT, CityCAT and MiniCAT are the official names for the ‘Air Cars’.

According to Negre, the OneCAT will have 5 seats and Glass Fiber body. It would have costs less than Rs 2 lakh.

Negre said that the first buyers of this car are the people who want zero pollution in the country.

The Air car will use the compressed air stored in carbon fiber tanks.

He futher added:

For long journeys, the compressed air driving the pistons can be boosted by a fuel burner which heats the air so it expands and increases the pressure on the pistons. The burner will use all kinds of liquid fuel.

i’m from lompoc, california, usa. i have just seen a program about the air cars, and am very interested in buying one. I have to drive 118 miles/day to work and having a zero emissions car would be amazing. Is there any list to get on to get one of the cars? Or could I be on a list for when this car becoms available in the US? Any information would be appreciated. thank you. Jana Davis

Why TATA Motors want to delay the launch of air car, when it could purchase the technology long back. Are they trying to cover all their expenses invested on their previous petrol and diesel version.

If Ratan tata got any responsibility to save this environment he should immediately launch the air cars in to Indian markets.

If not its shame on Tata motors and Ratan tata.
