Next Gen Optra: Chevrolet Cruze

General Motors now planning to launch its all new the Chevrolet Cruze (Codename: GMX071), the mid sized sedan and will replace its Chevrolet Optra, a C-segment saloon in Indian market by mid of 2010. The Cruze was 1st revealed in the General Motors press conference in July’08. The car will make its official unveiling at Paris Motor Show in October’08.

Our goal with the design of the Cruze was to be bold, not evolutionary. We wanted to take a big step forward, making a strong design statement for Chevrolet products around the world.
- Mr. Taewan Kim (GM Designer) said.
The car will be offered with 3-engine options: 1.6L, 1.8L petrol versions and 2L turbo-diesel version. General Motors may select to carry on with the base model variants as low-priced choice for those who can not afford the Cruze.

This new car seems to uplift the car market. I have heard very good reviews about the car. I have got to know the price of this car. I think this car will compete with the Volkswagen Jetta and Honda Civic.

The next generation Optra that is Cruze would come packed with whole set of amazing features and even the look is going to be slightly modified. This car will be rolled out by 2010.
