Toyota unveiled the 1st Corolla back in a 1966 and after than, the industry has sold over 30 million Corolla globally. With Corolla Altis, Toyota wants to live the conventional image of the Corolla. Similar to Camry (2006), the new Altis features elegant, sharper style and is 60mm wider and 10mm longer than the departing model.
The Altis will have the same 1.8L VVT-i engine as that of an existing Corolla model, tweaked ECU and fuel injection system, improved emission conformity and better fuel efficiency.
The latest Corolla Altis will have new suspensions. The car also features newly-developed L-arm MacPherson strut setup at front to lower the noise and vibrations, and enhanced steering awareness and a high-speed stability. The rear suspension is the torsion beam setup, which permits bigger boot space.
The Corolla Altis has five-star Euro NCAP ratings and will arrive with the safety features such as EBD, ABS, Traction Control, Brake Assist and multiple airbags. Corolla Altis will be priced at approximately Rs. 13-14 lakh.

i hope & wish that the altis is priced sensibly; at par with civic & offers variants to capture a larger chunk of the market & make inroads into civic territory more than the overpriced jetta

I am happy to see Toyota finally upgrading the otherwise a great car Corolla. I hope it will be priced well and will have better interiors as well. I was also hoping to see a diesel version to take on Jettas & Lauras of the world. But, that seems a dream …any updates on diesel version ?

I think it looks sick. Dont get me wrong, i mean it could have been much more beautiful considering the new front its got. But the back is so lame, and the front is like its being forced to look beautiful by applying a lot of make up. I think the Civic looks far better still.
I love Toyota’s, and the Camry still kicks ass!

That’s really good to know. Toyota mostly produces cars with high price tag. This makes the car out of the range of economical car buyers. This time also the price is high. I got to know that the price tag of this upcoming car is about Rs 13 lakh.
