New Mini Car from General Motors in India
Posted on February 5th 2009Welcome back!
General Motors is ready to launch its new mini car in India by the end of 2009. Currently, GM has Aveo U-VA & Spark in a small car segment. And now they will soon launch their 3rd model.
The model will be based on a Beat concept. The Beat concept was presented in New York Motors Show before 2 years. The new mini car will be offered in petrol and diesel versions.
GM plans to make India as an export hub for its small cars. The mini car will be roll out from its new Talgaon unit near Pune.
We are moving away from the completely knocked-down kit assembly, with this product. The engine and transmission will come from our new power train facility and the new stamping plant in Talegaon will cater to this project.

Chevrolet Mini will be positioned lower to Spark. With the small car potential in the Indian car industry the company is focusing on the small cars. Small cars dominate the Indian car market. Chevrolet will be also launching Cruise to India very soon too.
