Nano Sales Become Major Concern for Tata
Posted on December 3rd 2010Welcome back!
Lady luck seems to be annoyed with Tata Nano. The initial hysteria saw Tata Nano going ablaze; but now has done badly to change the common man’s perception about the world’s cheapest car and now the sales are telling a different story. Tata Motors sold an unbelievably low 509 Nano units in the month of November after the woofing sales of 3065 units in October 2010. This has made Tata Motors reassess the situation. The third largest automaker in the world has invested heavily on the Nano as a major component of its growth plan in the near future.
Tata Motors has asked the customers to come to the dealerships with their complaints regarding the safety features of the make and has promised to offer some additional safety components to the car. However, the company underlines that it is not a recall.
After a few unhappy incidents got the wind, some of the prospective customers of the Nano seem to have been caught on the horns of dilemma as regards their buying decision. A few incident-free months will certainly help Tata to win the hearts of the junta once again and improve the sales of the small car. Tata Nano has had a considerable sale of more than 70,000 Nano cars till now.
As a matter of fact, the reports of the unhappy incidents have been very few and it should not be misinterpreted as a generic issue. Many other reasons too have been responsible in the mishaps where the cars caught fire and the flaws in the safety features of the make are not the sole reason.
But all in all the rumors are playing their role in badly affecting the sales of the make. Automobile experts opine that there is no reason to worry as such accidents are expected to happen with any car model. The fact that Nano is a cheap deal makes people a bit suspicious about the quality of the make and such incidents do nothing but fuel their suspicion.
