Nano Bookings to Reach 5 lakh Units

Tata Nano’s bookings are probably to touch 5 lacs units in the beginning period of launch. The initial booking cost for Nano car, Rs.70K, has been kept high to avoid multiple bookings being made by individuals. It will make sure that that just those who are firm about buying the Nano, reserve it.
With Tata’s Sanand facility (not set yet), the manufacture of Nano car won’t be sufficient to meet all demands. Just 60K units to 70k units of the Nano will be manufactured in the initial year, until the Sanand plant begins working.Tata Motors will do computerized arbitrary allocations to fix on who will be a first few purchasers to the Nano. The Sanand unit’s manufacture capacity will be 2.5 lacs units per annnum.

The much awaited car is launched. High bookings reveals the demand for the car.But it is sad to know that the production is limited.May the car manufacturer is doing this to increase the Nano demand.
