Mitsubishi, Japanese Automobile Company is planning to revamp their business in India by launching a new edition- Lancer Evolution X.

It is a 10th edition of Lancer Sedan. It may arrive in India early next year. They are also planning to launch their outlander SUV. This SUV would be developed at Chennai.
We are planning to bring Evo 10 to India through the completely built route. This may push the cars’ end cost but the company has no plans to locally build the car yet. The response for the car will decide whether it can be manufactured here or not.

The Evo X undoubtdely is an amazing package on paper & i’m sure it will deliver on the road as well. There are enough people who would want to buy it as well. Only thing that would hamper the sales figures of the company would be the price (21.7-23.5 Lakhs) of the car. Honestly, its too steap a price for the car. I can assure you that there are enough sports car enthusiast in India but, very few who can afford it at this price. I myself am looking for a good sports car, This couldn’t fit in more perfectly. Since the company has the facilites to built it in India and can bring down the cost to 12-13 lakhs, they should take that all important step to make it here and sell it at an affordable price & thereby not lose out on the target market.I shall give you an example of Skoda AUTO. - they launched the Skoda RS - a 150 BHP turbo charged “Raging BULL” but dint succeed because of the pricing ! IF MITSUBHISHI MOTORS is listening, this propostiton to reduce the price of the car is in favour of both the parties i.e. a WIN-WIN situation - increasing the companies sales volumes by attractively pricing it at 12-14 lakhs & eventually tapping a larger market & making the customers happy as well. Although if they do decide to launch the EVO X at 21-23 lakhs, the customers will not be able to afford it & will only be left wanting for such a beautiful piece of performance oriented machinery. Eventually it will walk the same isle like the legendary Skoda RS did,Model got discountinued due to dull sales & would die an unsung hero’s death. I AM a SPORTS CAR ethusiast (FREAK)… it brings a smile on my face when the thought come across that a car with a 2-litre engine, churning out 295 BHP is coming to INDIA & its the LANCER EVO X. Just hope the company can do themselves & us good by making it a win-win situation.
Thanks
