Mini taxi has been revealed by Bajaj to replace 3-wheelers

Bajaj Auto has revealed the RE60. It is a mini taxi. It is called as a public passenger carrier. It is not known as a car. The cost of this mini taxi has not been revealed yet. The price will be revealed at the formal launch after a few months. Bajaj Auto is working as opponent and giving competition to the Tata Nano. The company’s managing director, Rajiv Bajaj, himself said it did not wish to make a car. “Certainly this is a product for which core customers are those who use a three-wheeler,” he said. Another wonderful thing about this mini taxi is that it comes with an incorporated digital fare meter in its dashboard.

Almost 4 years have been spent on developing this mini taxi by the Bajaj Auto. This public passenger carrier has a top speed of 70kmph. It comes with a rear mounted 200cc petrol engine. It also gives a mileage of 35km to a litre of petrol. “We are very excited with the outcome of our efforts and, in the RE60, we believe we have an excellent solution for the mobility challenges arising from the rapid urbanization of India,” Rajiv Bajaj said.

Another attractive addition in this vehicle is its seating capacity of four. This addition will surely attract the purchasers. We do not know how much competition this mini taxi will give to Tata Nano, which has a very powerful 623cc engine. Bajaj Auto Company is interested in targeting the three-wheeler section in India and they are also looking for opportunities abroad. The price of this mini taxi has not been revealed, but it will be made available in the same price of 3-wheeler. The RE60, a mini taxi has profitable function in passenger transport; Bajaj seems to have moved away from its beginning plan of making an ultra low-cost taxi in partnership with Renault-Nissan.
