Mercedes-Benz Launches Improved Version of SUV M-Class

Mercedes-Benz launched the upgraded version of its SUV M-class on Monday. The improved M-Class is offered in 2 engine variants : 3L diesel and 3.5L petrol. It will be priced at Rs 53.77 lacs and Rs 54 lacs.

At the launch of new M-class luxury SUV, Mr. Wilfried Aulbur (CEO & MD, Mercedes-Benz India) said the improved M-class offered the maximum level of comfort, luxury and on-road improvements.
Now the new SUV is available with seven speed auto-transmission, height adjusting air suspension and all-wheel driven mechanism.
According to Mr. Wilfried Aulbur, the company intended to mushroom its employees’ potency at its R&D in Bangalore in coming few years.
We will have around 500-1,000 engineers working for our R&D centre in Bangalore in the next few years. We have about 200 people working in the centre. We also plan to invest Rs. 150 crore together with its partners for expanding the distribution network.

In 2008, Mercedes-Benz sold more than 3600 cars, 15 buses and 240 trucks in India. The company is also planning to set up a new unit at Chakan near Pune.
