Maruti to Reveal Its Fuel Efficiency
Posted on January 5th 2009Welcome back!
Maruti Suzuki has announced that it would reveal fuel efficiency of its models at dealerships across the country with an immediate effect. Previously, the Society of Indian Auto Manufacturers in a month of September had declared a voluntary labeling programme for each member company to make a revelation of fuel efficiency of their all vehicles by the March-end.
This is a part of the ‘voluntary disclosure of Fuel Economy’ programme under which the fuel efficiency figures are concluded by the tests taken at 3 – test agencies which are approved by the government : Automotive Research Ass. Of India, Pune, Vehicles Research & Development Establishment, Ahmednagar and International Centre of Auto Technology, Manesar.
It is a proactive measure undertaken by the company in customer interest. The fuel economy figures obtained in tests by premier automobile research institutions emphasise Maruti Suzuki’s overall leadership in making highly fuel efficient cars. It would enable customers to make an informed choice when purchasing a car in the market.
- Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi (MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India) said.

It is a good initiative taken by the government. It is the the duty of the car manufacturers to inform the buyers about the fuel economy. This will help the buyers to make wiser decision.
