The company is planning to launch five new CNG cars next month in a single day.

The auto major will introduce CNG versions of its Alto, Estilo, Wagon-R, Eco and SX4 which will also feature factory fitted CNG kits.

We are launching the CNG models as a strategic move to be the first automaker to introduce such a wide range of factory fitted CNG kits across all the models. It intends to create a new segment for CNG cars as no other manufacturer has such a broad range of CNG models in the country. It is the launch of a technology, not the cars. It is the concept of factory-fitted CNG models

MSIL Chief General Manager (Marketing), Shashank Shrivastawa was quipped as saying.

MSIL will introduce the models in second week of August but a final date of launch has not been announced so far. It will launch the K-10 series model of its best selling model Maruti Alto on August 04. Alto K10 will have a mileage of 20.2 kilometer per liter as per Automotive Research Association of India standards.

Another executive at the company sources was quoted as saying.

It would be tempting to observe as to what would be the next move of the rival competitors of Maruti in the coming the coming days to unfold.
