Maruti SX4 Diesel Bookings Cross The 5000 Mark

Merely 20 days after the much-hyped diesel version of SX4 was launched in the Indian automobile market, Maruti Suzuki has already received more than 5000 bookings for the model.
Yes, the response to the SX4 diesel variant has been phenomenal and its being expected that Maruti Suzuki would have to really work out of their skins to make sure the deliveries for the car is made on time and waiting periods are not long.
We have received an overwhelming response for the SX4 diesel. Our target was 2000 units per month but with this kind of response we will have to work harder to cater to the demand.
Mr. Shashank Shrivastawa, Chief General Manager, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, was quipped as saying over the matter.
Maruti Suzuki has two plants each at Gurgaon and Maneser with a combined production capacity of 1.2 million cars a year. The company also has plans to open a new unit (an extension to the Maneser plant) which will have a production capacity of around 2.5 million cars a year.
According to the first reports reaching here, Maruti has plans to make the above mentioned plant functional in the first Quarter next year.
With new cars like all-new swift in the pipeline and many more set to spice up the ever buzzing Indian automobile market and a new plant at a near completion and operational stage, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up and chalking out a plan for the challenge ahead.
