Maruti Suzuki Ritz Unveiled !

Maruti Suzuki unveiled its latest hatchback model, Ritz, on 15th May 2009 in the Indian market. Its initial price is 3.90 lakh to 4.99 lakh rupees. The Maruti Swift platform based car has 85% locally sourced components, assisting the company to maintain its cost low. The car is available in five variants - 2 for diesel and 3 for petrol.
The Maruti Ritz is the first (BS-IV) Bharat Stage-IV emission norms compliant car in India. The Ritz’s petrol engine is aluminium 1.2L K12M from the Suzuki featuring latest technology and large utilization of a plastic to maintain its weight down. The engine is E10 compatible also.
The diesel variant is available with 1.3L DDiS engine with a 75bhp and 19kgm of a torque meeting the EURO - 4 emission norms.
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz’s starting price is 3.90 lakhs rupees for LXi model with a 1.2L petrol engine to 4.99 lakhs rupees for VDi diesel engine. The ZXi variant will be available with Airbags and ABS with the steering mounted controls as the standard options.

Maruti Suzuki looks handsome! I am glad to hear that the top end variant has some fantastic features like airbags, ABS and steering wheel mounted controls. This is the first time that so many wonderful features are available in a small car.

One of my friends bought the Ritz day before yesterday and I drove it yesterday. The new K series engine is simply awesome it’s so quiet even when you are on fifth gear. The separate gear console is also great to look at. The rear seats are also very comforting with lot of leg room. I think it’s better than Swift regarding comfort.

Ritz seems to receive great response. I saw so many of them on the roads. They are growing very fast. With the new k-series engine, Ritz is going to be a great part of Maruti Suzuki’s increasing sales.
