Maruti Suzuki Q1 net at Rs 465.9 cr

logo_marutisuzuki.jpgMaruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer, reported net profit of Rs 465.9 crore in 1st quarter of 2008-2009, against Rs 499.6 crore during the corresponding period of the last financial year.

The industry, however, said the figures were not comparable owing to an extra impact of Rs 61.9 crore resulting from new reduction policy established in a 4th quarter of the fiscal 2008.

Net sales stand at the Rs 4731 crore in the 1st quarter of a fiscal, an increase of 20.9% over a corresponding period of 2007.

Whole sales during the quarter increased by 13.5% at 1,92,584 units during quarter. In this, domestic sales increased by 12.1%, led by WagonR, Swift and Swift DZire at 1,80,093 units during quarter.

They exported 12491 units in 1st quarter of 2008-2009, against 9065 units in a 1st quarter.
